I haven't printed photos in years, even though I take close to 1,000 pictures a month. Nowadays, printing photos seem a bit outdated and a waste, since most people are on Facebook...even my Granny. Family from all over can see images you want to share via email, social media or text. If I have photos I'd like someone to keep, I can simply upload them to the computer and have them printed and picked up at their local drug store. But, that can sometimes feel as impersonal as only communicating through accounts. Just like there's a need to touch a loved one and hear a voice, sometimes being able to touch a photograph can provide that sense of closeness too.
For album lovers, gone are the days of people coming over and peeling apart sticky pages of photo albums, to see what you've been up to! Ordinary photo albums can be heart warming and bring back a lot of memories. But since we're a lot more photogenic these days, keeping things neat and picture books flat is important for maintaining room to store them. As mentioned in another post, photo albums have been modernized. Instead of placing 4"x6" prints through a slot in a book, we can have the photos printed on a page. Resulting in a smooth, vibrant finish!
