The Google Chromecast Audio comes with a power cable, the Chromecast Audio and the 3.5mm audio cable. All you need is a Wi-Fi connection! Once connected, you plug the Chromecast Audio into a speaker of your choice. Speaker inputs supported are RCA, Optical and 3.5mm, however the Chromecast box only includes the 3.5mm cable.
Once you've connected the parts and plugged in the power cord, it's time to download the Google Home app.
The app is compatible with Mac, Windows, Chromebook, Android devices, iPhone and iPad. After downloading, you have a choice of music apps you can play on your speaker, just by tapping on the cast button in the top right of the app. For this product, I used YouTube (YT Music) to play my favorites, but you have other options. Like Pandora, iHeartRadio, TuneIn, Play Music and more.
It works well with my JBL speakers. The volume on the phone is limited, but being able to connect the music I listen to on my phone wirelessly, using the Google Chromecast Audio, makes it possible for me to hear my favorite songs as loudly as I want to, while in the shower or getting ready.
The Google Chromecast Audio can be purchased at Best Buy for under $40. Affordability and ease of use make this compact tool an easy choice. Depending on your home entertainment speaker output, it is fantastic. The sound is clear and crisp, as expected.
Only downfall I noticed, was in regards to my newer speakers. The inputs were unsupported, but purchasing a 3.5mm to whatever adapter would solve that problem!
