Quaker Up! Review of Chocolate Chips Oatmeal Cookies, Big Chewy Chocolate Chip Granola Bars and Maple Perfect Portions!
February 23, 2013 by

I don't know about your mornings, but any night that my 4 year old does not wake me up
at 3AM, just to have me carry him back to his room, is a night well slept (usually). The alarm
clock goes off at 7AM and the race is on!

If the kids are not already up, I'm on my way to their rooms with their tooth brushes in my
hands. Once they're done brushing their teeth and getting ready, into the kitchen they go for breakfast. I am so not the bacon and eggs with pancakes and toast type of mom. Who really has time for that in the morning? I've tried it, and my kids wasted it. It takes long to cook and they would take too long to eat it. I used to feel guilty, but after speaking with many moms, I found out I wasn't alone. They prefer to have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich OR Cream of Wheat OR noodles OR Quaker Oats, sometimes even a hot dog. My goal is to make sure their bellies are full before they leave home. What's even better is that my 6 year old eats breakfast again at school since his friends are there eating too (money well spent) and my 4 year old's preschool fees include breakfast, snacks and lunch.

When we have cold mornings (any temperature below 60 degrees), I always pull out food that would warm up my children's little bodies! There are a lot of health reasons for eating Quaker Oats, but let's be honest...they only care that it tastes good. I love Quaker Oats, my pantry has a few tubs full (they were on sale BOGO free in the Supermarket, lol, bargain!!!). We'll eat breakfast food any time of the day without shame. If you're thinking that's crazy, please tell me why IHOP is open 24 hours 7 days a week?

For things I would like to wear, share or eat, I always jump on the opportunity to try them. So it's no surprise, when the chance to review Quaker Up! was offered, I jumped...for joy! The products up for review: Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies, Maple Quaker Perfect Portions and Big Chewy Chocolate Chip Granola Bars. Here are my thoughts!

Big Chewy Chocolate Chip Granola Bars
If you like Granola Bars and chocolate chips,
you will love this. It's as good as it has always
been, but bigger!

Perfect Portions Maple Quaker Oats
Delicious! This is the same maple oatmeal we
already love, but in an easy to serve pack and
sugarless. I prefer the version that is already
sweetened, but for people who prefer to sweeten
it themselves, this is a good option!

Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies   Honestly, I am not a fan of these. I have made cookies using Quaker Oats on a few occasions and they were delicious, these cookies however did not really taste like cookies to me. My 4 year old enjoyed it, as well as my sister in law. But my brother in law, my 6 year old and I did not. They have a very light taste. In my opinion it tastes like a crunchy version of the oats flakes. My brother in law thought they were "airy" and to him it took a couple of chews before he could taste the flavor. This is definitely a product that is "in the taste buds of the beholder". The likes were half and half with people I had try it. UPDATE: Now my 6 year old cannot get enough of these cookies!

I will continue to enjoy the Quaker granola bars and oatmeal!
