We finally opened the Transformers case today after days of my children begging me to play with it. I don't think they knew what they were in for, it was work putting it together...but fun. Yay, another BzzAgent winner!
Kids have to follow the directions in the booklet in order to create a Transformer. My 5 year old didn't enjoy that too much, but my 7 year old did, which is why this toy is marketed to kids 7+. I put one together and my son decided he didn't need my help and finished his. It was fun sitting with them watching them try to figure it out, but once we were done connecting the pieces, I realized my older son stopped playing with it and my little one took over.
This is a great toy for kids who are into creating things because it really shows how patient they can be and watching my son follow the directions and make his robot correctly was a proud moment for me. I underestimated him :)
Be prepared: As quickly (well not that quickly) as they put it together, they may take it apart just to do it all over again. That's a good sign because usually after my kids play with something they're ready to put it in their toy box for good. So the fact that he wanted to do it again lets me know it will keep him interested longer than a day, lol!
It helps kids demonstrate patience and the ability to follow instructions
Keeps kids busy
Comes with extra pieces so you can customize it
Something different. I have boys and it's hard to find unique toys for them!
For the pieces that connect the parts together, you have to be careful not to pull/bend it too hard when taking it apart because it may break. We have a few of them that show bend marks from being stretched, so they're a little lighter in the areas where it was bent.
