Today when I was pulling into my driveway, a big *** bird blocked me from being able to park in my garage. I was so shocked by the attitude of this mini ostrich looking thing that I really didn't know what to do. I didn't want to honk, because I was scared it would go into attack mode or possibly get spooked to the point where it runs into the street and gets hit by a car...then I'll have to deal with that on my conscience. So I just sat there...waiting...
I waited for what felt like an hour, but it was really the longest three minutes I ever felt in my life. Seriously, three minutes are really long when (you have to pee) you've spent two hours in the garden section of Lowes in 90 degree heat. I couldn't wait to get inside and have a glass of water and stretch my legs. Gosh this bird was taking too long!!!
When it finally moved, it went into my grass. So I pressed the button for the garage to open and out of no where it's buddy came flying in. I was about to close the garage back so they don't confuse me opening it as an invitation, but as soon as the other bird flew in, they both left together. It was as if they had plans to go out and my house was the meeting location. Now, I don't know if you've ever seen a sandhill crane bird, but they're really big, and when their wings are open wide, it's terrifying. I thought they were seasonal, but they seem to enjoy hanging out in my neighborhood. Sometimes they make a really scary sound (bird speak), so add their large size and the noises they make and you'd feel as if you're living amongst something prehistoric.
Check out the video I found on youtube, and hear for yourself they kind of sounds they make. It might scare you too! :)
