30 Day Shred and a better diet

I wasn't going to post this because it will seem like an advertisement for diet and fitness companies and I don't mean for it to. But, I was told that publicizing my fitness goals and jotting down what I've done may help me successfully reach them this time around. Hopefully it will also help someone else.

If you've been following me, you've seen how quickly I am ready to try something new, and after about two weeks...I've become a runaway dieter. I don't know what it is, but I start seeing results and like a fool I quit thinking I can continue on my own. I'd eat a piece of cake or 2, or even snack on chips throughout the day and foolishly think I will end up with my dream body. Of course, that is not the case.
I'm back to using my 'My Fitness Pal' app and being forced to accept my failures. I jot down everything, even when I eat the things I shouldn't. What is great about the app, is that it makes me not want the junk I enjoy so much, because I do not want to see it added to my food journal. This week I've eaten properly. I know going cold turkey and dropping everything will lead to my failure, so I just incorporated everything I've learned throughout the year so I can enjoy some of the no so good food. I've even had a slice of apple pie and chips this week, actually paying attention to the serving size...and I lost 4 pounds.

For fitness I have a ton of XBox Kinect workout games, but I enjoy the Rockin Body, Slim N Six and the one I just bought 30 Day Shred by Jillian Michaels. I bought the Jillian Michaels DVD on ebay for $6, not bad at all. My calves were killing me after the first workout and I had to skip a day because of the pain, but I refused to skip two days even though my legs hurt. While doing the second workout I was able to push through the pain most of the way, but my calves hurt too much to do the jumping jacks (my favorite exercise). That's the only part of the workout I did not do, I marched in place instead. I am also doing an hour on the elliptical.
