Oh my gosh! Ok, so I know I mentioned previously how much I benefited from the Slim in Six workout program two years ago. I did! Losing 22 lbs in 6 weeks by exercising is great! My issue has always been staying motivated. You would think after losing weight in that time while cheating and only slightly changing the way I eat should be enough motivation for me to keep going. But I'm so freaking lazy. After a few weeks, I might take a "break" that I expect to last just one day, then the next day will come and I won't exercise and that continues until months go by without me following the regimen. Then guess what? I gain the weight back!!! Darn it!
Most people who are successful on a program, continue until the program is complete, and move on to something tougher. Not meEEeeeEee! After I finished the Slim in Six program, I was feeling pretty good. I knew I had a lot more work to do, but I figured after 6 weeks, my body is too used to the exercises so I'd have to find something else. No sense in me doing the video program over if my body is used to it, right? I breezed through the 5th and 6th weeks, so anytime after that would probably cause no change to my body. Who knew there was a way to eliminate the possibility of plateau"ing"? After I stopped...I stopppppped...and didn't look for anything else.
Here I am January 31, 2013, two years after my initial round and just a few days after restarting the program. I'm so ready to have a six pack and finally get rid of this keg belly that's been keeping me from wearing some jeans I've owned for years. I bought them after telling my self I will fit them by summer, the only thing standing in my way is the zipper! Shockingly, I've been able to get them passed my thunder thighs, but closing them is a hassle. After I suck in my stomach and button them, I breath... Then instead of having a muffin top, I look more like two scoops of chocolate ice cream on a cone. Ughhhh! Someone really needs to invent stretch zippers, lol.
Anyhoo, beginning the workout again, there are a few things I completely forgot were included in the routine. Yes it works, and yes it gave me results...but I HATE lunges and the elevator music that plays in the background. We have the option of turning off the sound, but eww? Also, I don't remember there being so many damn lunges, lol. Every time I do the lunge I hear a crack in my knees and my body kind of falls to the side. I weigh less now than I did when I did her workout years ago so I don't know what the heck happened to my balance. Of course, we can modify it and march in place, but even though I'm not in a gym with other people, I still feel like a loser marching in place while everyone else is doing the same thing as the instructor......sooooooo......I switched to my Rockin Body DVD with Shawn T. At least he has someone on stage doing the modified workouts while others are following the leader! Now she's the "loser", hahahaha!
I know, I switch too much! But hey, at least I'm working out! And I had a blast! I love to dance and doing his routine I sweat A LOT and ripped a hole in my vinyl workout suit. While doing the squat with weights I felt a draft. I turned towards the mirror to see why I was so cold back there, and saw that my booty was exposed (see photo >>>). OMG! Thank God I was at home in this suit and not at a gym.....that would've been embarrassing! I took the pants off, but kept on the top and continued working out. I know I burned a lot of calories because even my toes were sweating (and I had on no shoes!). Woohoo!
